Discounts and other help

Reviewed October 13, 2026

If you get SNAP, you may qualify for other help. Some programs use SNAP as proof that you qualify; others have their own rules. You may need to apply separately. These programs do not add money to your SNAP card.

Phone or internet service

SNAP can help you qualify for Lifeline, a federal phone or internet discount. Only one Lifeline benefit is allowed per household. Plans and any remaining charges depend on the provider. Check Lifeline and how to apply (opens in a new tab).

Museums and family outings

Museums for All offers admission for $5 or less per person at participating museums, for up to four people with a SNAP EBT card. Bring your card and photo ID. Check the museum's price and booking rules first. Your EBT card proves you qualify; SNAP does not pay for admission. Find a participating museum (opens in a new tab).

Energy bills

You may qualify for help with heating or cooling bills. Getting SNAP does not guarantee this help. Your state or local program checks its own rules and available funding. Find energy-bill assistance (opens in a new tab).

More local help

Ask 211 (opens in a new tab) about food, housing, utility bills, and other help in your area. Programs and availability vary. You can also call 211.

Before you sign up

Check the program's own website for its rules and any charges. A discount is not always free. Paid memberships and delivery plans may charge you again when they renew. Do not share your EBT PIN to prove that you get SNAP.
