Volunteers pack grocery boxes together at a food bank.
01 · Help close to home

Find a place to volunteer

Food banks need people to pack groceries, help at distributions, and support other programs. Find the food bank serving your area, then check its site for current volunteer shifts.

02 · Support local work

Give food or money

Ask your local food bank what food it needs and how to drop it off. Money donations also let it buy and move food where it is needed most.

Use the search above to reach a local food bank. You can also support Feeding America’s national network.

03 · Bring others in

Organize a food drive

Bring together friends, coworkers, or neighbors. Before collecting food, ask the food bank what it needs and whether it accepts drop-offs. A virtual fundraiser is another option.
