Methodology & Sources

We are committed to transparency. Estimates and comparisons on this site are based on identified public data and show the applicable source period or date.

Benefit estimates

Benefit amounts use published USDA maximum-allotment tables for the selected household size and jurisdiction. Actual benefits depend on income, deductions and program rules.

State resources

State program names, application links, hotlines, office locators and EBT information are drawn from official government directories and state resources.

Price comparisons

Grocery comparisons use identified price sources and standard quantities. Prices are directional estimates and will vary by store, brand and location.

Data dates

Each result shows the period or date of the source data. When newer information is not yet available, the site shows the most recently verified data with its effective period.

Independent resource

My SNAP Benefits is an independent educational resource. It is not a government agency and does not determine eligibility, process applications or access individual benefit cases.
